FAN FEATURE FRIDAY #185 - KING CONAN EDITION

King Conan, the barbarian-turned-king, proves you can take the man out of the wild but not the wild out of the man. Fitted with muscles and a mind as sharp as his sword, he rules Aquilonia with a mix of brawn and brains.

When adventure calls, Conan answers, never missing a chance to battle sorcerers, monsters, and anything else the Hyborian Age has in store. The reign of King Conan shows that true conquerors never rest—they keep hunting for the next challenge.

Scroll on and check out how Eric, Brian, Simon, Charlie, Lewis, & Ryan captured the barbarian king of Aquilonia.

Name: Eric (@intangibledandy)
Location: Washington, US
Inspiration: My inspiration for this shot came from the original stories by Robert E. Howard, specifically The Phoenix on the Sword. This was a story about a weathered old Conan who had won countless battles throughout his life but is now a weathered old warrior who still yearns for his days on the battlefield. I tried to capture that here.

Name: Brian (@bcauseitsfun)
Location: Georgia, US
Inspiration: I had just received my King Conan and was inspired by the posable cape and torch. When I receive a new figure, I generally like to create my first photo with a simple pose. What I love about the posable capes from Mezco is that they allow you to show motion with a simple pose. I wanted my photo to appear that Conan was standing on top of a mountain in a colder climate with a colorfully lit background.

Name: Simon (@sime_on_toast)
Location: Texas, US
Inspiration: I wanted to show Conan as an accomplished king enjoying the spoils of war and a battle-hardened warrior who is never afraid to lead the charge!

Name: Charlie (@boba_chuck)
Location: New York, US
Inspiration: I wanted to showcase Conan through one of the harsher environments. What better than a snowstorm? No matter the weather, Conan will prevail!!! 👊🏼🗡

Name: Lewis (@thebatcollector)
Location: United Kingdom
Inspiration: I was so impressed by the accessories and sculpting work on King Conan, complemented by the soft goods and wired cloak, there is a huge variety of photography with him. But I knew I wanted to create a dynamic action shot which the figure lends itself to which is what I’ve tried to evoke here.

Name: Ryan (@oz_toyphotography)
Location: Canada
Inspiration: Comics and Fantasy art were the inspiration behind this shot. Went for the Kings Quest vibe. Have always been a big Conan fan. Mezco makes the best Conan figures. And as a collector and Toy photographer, they are so fun to collect/shoot.
