FAN FEATURE FRIDAY #259 - DOC NOCTURNAL - PHANTOM KNIGHT EDITION

Doc Nocturnal rides into the darkness armed for war.

When ancient evils stir and supernatural horrors emerge from the shadows, the Phantom Knights answer the call. They are the last line between humanity and the darkness beyond the veil, hunting the creatures that prey on the innocent and facing whatever nightmares await in the night. For Doc Nocturnal, there is no retreat. No matter what lurks in the darkness, the hunt continues.

Captured through the lens of Jerelle, Simon, Josh, Demetri, Chris & Michael, Doc Nocturnal steps into the shadows as the Phantom Knight. ⚔️

Inspiration: This shot came from wanting to showcase how menacing this character can be just casually walking towards you. Such care and detail was taken with this figure to bring out all the excellence! What an addition!

Inspiration: I wanted to show Doc Nocturnal equipped to begin a new hunt as the Sun begins to set and the evils of the world begin to stir.

Inspiration: I wanted to capture Doc Nocturnal in his element. I wanted him to feel like a dark, mysterious monster hunter who had just finished a fight, with the creature lying defeated at his feet. I played around with the lighting and perspective to give it that dramatic, almost comic-book/fantasy feel while still making Doc Nocturnal the focus of the image.

Inspiration: The duality of Doc Noc, a monster who hunts monsters, which is why I went with cool lighting on the right and warm lighting on the left. The shadows on the mask play an important part as well, to give that feeling of a monster in the shadows even though he’s supposed to be the good guy.

Inspiration: I wanted an action scene, so I got Nosferatu and paired him looking surprised with the crucifix being shoved in his face by Doc, who is also reaching to unsheath The Crucible. I added some background pieces and was happy with the result. Really enjoying the lore that is Doc Noc and the Phantom Knights!

Inspiration: This shot was purely inspired by the sheer creepiness of this awesome figure! This is by far my favorite version of Doc Nocturnal to date! I immediately wanted him heading out of the cemetery, drawing this huge 2 handed great sword from his back, while his other hand rested calmly on the hilt of his saber. To add a little more life, I then included the two crows that came with "The Crow" figure; one is unfortunately blocked in the end by the character. I gave him glowing eyes; I wanted him more creature than man, in my vision of the character (Phantom Knight).
